6 Week Intensive Singing Fundamentals Course
Starting 1st May 2023
If you are serious about training your voice, starting with the foundations is a great place to start.
This 6 week intenstive singing training course is designed to focus on training the source of your voice (the larynx) in a logical, easy to understand, step by step process and then apply it to the singing voice.
There will be a weekly training session on zoom every Wednesday 7.00 - 8.00pm. First session will be on Wednesday 3rd May.
In between the zoom calls there will be a series of mini practise sessions, where I will be showing you how to apply what we have learned on the zoom call to your songs, further exercises to help you keep your practise consistent and keep you accountable. These mini lessons will be delivered live on a separate, closed Facebook group, and will also be available to watch online.
This is an intensive course designed to start training your voice and keep you practising correctly and raise your awareness of how your voice works.
Course Content
Week 1: Effort
Where are you working and how hard do you need to work for the task at hand.
Week 2: Tension
How to isolate the muscles to ensure you are working where you need to and not creating tension
Week 3: The Siren
The Siren and other essential vocal exercises. How to warm up the voice quickly, efficiently and effectively.
Week 4: Breath Control
The truth about singing and breathing.
Week 5: The Open Throat
How to avoid constriction in the throat.
Week 6: The Singers Secret Weapon!

Who is it Suitable For?
Anyone who is serious about learning more and training their voice. Beginners, professionals who want to learn more about their craft, singing teachers, actors, musical directors and choir directors looking to help the singers they work with.
When, Where & Fees?
There will be a weekly training session on zoom every Wednesday 7.00pm - 8.00pm. First session will be on Wednesday 3rd May.
In addition, mini training and guidance classes will be delivered on a closed Facebook group which you can either join in live or catch up at your convenience. All lessons are also available online.

About Marie
Marie Collins is a highly experience singing teacher, musical theatre coach and NLP practitioner.
She has been teaching voice for many years both in Theatre Schools throughout Yorkshire and in her own private teaching studio in Leeds. She is currently on the Estill Master Trainer Pathway studying with Anne-Marie Speed at The Voice Explained. Marie is Head Of Singing at Damien Poole Theatre Arts and founder and director of The VivaVox Choir.
Marie studied acting at the prestegious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and still continues to sing and perform. Her professional performing credits include Andrew Lloyd Webber’s one women musical, Tell Me On A Sunday. Arcadia (Endillion Theatre Company), Blitz Bride – The Musical (UK Tour), Just Like Anthea (UK Tour), Chess In Concert (Royal Albert Hall), Girls Night (No.1 National Tour), The Songs of Tim Rice (Henley Festival), Salad Days (Bristol Old Vic Theatre). Marie is part of the Dinner Shows team at Yeadon Town Hall and can regularly be seen performing there. As a soloist, she has performed in some of the countries’ most prestigious venues, including The Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Bridgewater Hall, The Sage and the Henley Festival and regularly works as a session and studio singer.
Marie is a well-respected Musical Director and is currently working on a production of Cats for Futurist Theatre Company. Past productions have included Jesus Christ Superstar, La Cage Aux Folles, Les Miserables, Sweet Charity, Me & My Girl, Oliver, Oklahoma, The Producers, Betty Blue Eyes and The Wiz.
Marie is a certified NLP Practitioner, promoting a positive mindset to help her students with confidence, nerves and performance anxiety.
